Greetings and salutations my fellow wizards! Today I would like to take you behind the scenes of STRIGA, and give you a release date for STRIGA’s crowdfunding. Let’s dive in!
RELEASE DATE
I know that if you are interested in STRIGA, chances are you probably opened this article to know when the game will release, or to be more accurate, when does the crowdfunding start.
I can safely say that the Kickstarter will start May 23rd, and run for 14-15 days.
What about the game’s release? If we reach the funding the game in PDF format will launch at the end of June, and the printed copies will start rolling out at the beginning of August.
If some unforeseen problems pop up I may have to push back the dates a little bit, but overall the approximated release window should be that one!
DISTRIBUTION
The game will release worldwide on PDF format!
The printed version of STRIGA instead, will release in Europe, Canada and US for now.
The Canada and US distribution will be handled by none other than Ratti Incantati!
PLAYTESTING AND EDITING
We are currently running some playtests of the game. So far is looking good!
This also means that the game is essentially 90% done.
I can safely say that the exploration and journaling (on which the game focuses) are working pretty well, so hooray!
Exploration plays a big part in STRIGA, and it’s not without reason; in this OSR game we delve deep down an underground lost city that spans for hundreds of kilometers.
That is a humongous space.
And that of course needs loads of exploring, mapping, establishing encampments, and making sure those encampments are safe from… the not very friendly dwellers of the underground city.
The game uses hex maps and roles to facilitate the effort of exploration, and coupled with journaling, it gives a further meaning to discovery.
We are also doing some editing, trying some layout stuff, and fixing up some errors, to give you the best possible version of STRIGA!
THE WORST PART IS MARKETING
Let me tell you: I have never met in my life someone that is both an author and likes to do marketing for their own product. And there’s a reason for that: it is pretty hard.
This is probably what will take the longest. We are currently at 90% percent of our “needed goal of interest”, although I would like to push even further if possible.
I feel like we are going well though! Hooray!
As always, you can find the pre-launch page here!
If you wish to really really help me, share the link with someone who may be interested in STRIGA!
WILL THE GAME BE TRANSLATED?
For my Italian amici, yes, the game will be translated in Italian in the future!
Por mi hermanos speaking Spanish, I am currently working to see if a Spanish version is possible.
That’s a wrap for today, gentle readers! We will get back on STRIGA with some news, very soon!
