"Ideas you are not putting in paper (virtual of physical), aren’t a real thing." This resonated so much with me! One of the first things that helped me was getting stuff out of my head and onto paper. Made more room in my head and helped make my ideals more concrete!

Episodes of depression make the consistency part a little tricky, but I am determined to finally get all the ideas out of my head and also out of my endless notes I took over the years. In that regard it is inspiring to read this article!

Thanks for the kind words Sophie, and I hope to see your stuff out in the wild very soon!

I love this reading!! So inspiring and so informative! And I love the acronym P.O.R.C.O, it’s so easy to remember. I use it a lot myself. Although I create only the story and the dialogue trees in games I think after that, I will give a try to create my own small RPG game!!

Love this:

"Ideas you let marinade in your head for a long time, eventually rot and decay."

I've always seen it as a dying flame when I don't write something down. Or if I just take too long to get to it my passion toward it fizzles out.

The rot and decay works so well because if I let something marinade in my head too long, the original focus gets muddled to the point where it's all falling apart.

Every time I make something, it goes differently than before, so it's really nice to have a structure like PORCO. Thanks for sharing! πŸ˜„

That's exactly how I felt before, so that's where this formula comes from. Thank you for reading the article, and I'm very glad you enjoyed it!

This is such great advice for any creative project! Also Big Yes to commissioning artists -- it can be so delightful to have someone bring your idea to life in a beautiful image. ❀️

I'm in the process of making my first TTRPG after just being in the hobby for a mere 3 months. So very helpful tips!

Excellent article. My Silver Spire Guild is a homebrew in a world that I created. And it is ever expanding! What a blast!

This is super helpful! I’m still very new to TTRPGs (i played once), and I’ve been working on a DND one-shot that i want to run on Halloween. It’s been a ton of fun!!

Beautiful work, fellow Italian friend. Please create a guide to help us stop making RPG content. We want our lives back!
