Hellgreen funded!
Welcome to hell!
My fellow wizards, you’ll excuse me if today I’ll call you “Operatives”. The Hellgreen Kickstarter funded, and it’s now a reality! This letter will be dedicated almost exclusively to Hellgreen, so buckle up, and welcome to hell!
So, in today’s letter you will find:

HELLGREEN FUNDED: THE DETAILS
At the moment of writing, Hellgreen is 229% funded! We made it!
A big thank you to all of you who supported the Kickstarter right from the start!
If you wish to support the game and grab your PDF copy (at a lower price than the release price), you can check out the Kickstarter right here.
Now comes the fun part. The game is a real thing, so it means me and the art team (who sees returning the NAPUNK folks, Emanuele Parascandolo, Martina Chilardi, and V.A. Mitio) are now working to polish the game and make the final artworks. I’ll be posting some Work In Progress artworks and Lore in the Kickstarter’s update section, so go check them out if you don’t wanna miss them!
The crowdfunding also reached its stretch goal, meaning that Hellgreen will also feature a… “multiplayer” mode.
Wait, but what’s a multiplayer mode in a TTRPG?
I guess it’s just a TTRPG.
TURNING A SOLO GAME INTO A MULTIPLAYER GAME
As you know, Hellgreen is a solo RPG, one where you write your own narrative, roll some dice and determine the outcome of your actions. You can use it to simply “dungeon crawl” through the forest of Tanguan like you were in a gamebook, or use it to write your own story.
You can do that with almost all TTRPGs in the “Solo RPG” genre, after all.
But what if you want to bring that story to players?
You often see this the other way around, it’s always a classic TTRPG with a Game Master and players that gets a solo mode.
With Hellgreen I decided to go the other way around. I designed Hellgreen to be a “Solo-first” RPG.
However, I couldn’t resist the urge to write a “traditional TTRPG” with the setting, and so that’s why I am adding “Hellgreen: Front Mission”, a chapter you will find in every Hellgreen copy, detailing how you can play the game with friends and explore the Tanguanese jungle together.
The process of writing rules for converting a solo game into a traditional tabletop RPG was pretty fun, it creates a very interesting challenge that I would like to expand on, one day or another.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR HELLGREEN
Hellgreen is scheduled for release in April 2025. I am confident we are right on track to do so, and I can’t explain how much I’m grateful for the support that made it possible.
I am enjoying a lot drawing and writing for both Solo Spec Ops and Front Mission, and I can’t wait to show you the full game!
